What is changing? |
Recent additional security checks by issuers on contactless transactions may result in a higher level of declined transactions. With the newest application update, MobileMerchant is adding a functionality to streamline the contactless transaction process. Where required, the MobileMerchant update will seamlessly prompt for card entry and/or PIN entry for contactless transactions, removing the need for additional intervention. |
What does it mean to you? |
For all customers using the MobileMerchant app, this update is required to avoid unnecessary declined contactless transactions. If you have automatic updates enabled on your mobile phone or tablet, your device should update automatically. If automatic updates are disabled though, you should update the MobileMerchant app at the earliest opportunity to ensure that you are not impacted by this change. After updating the MobileMerchant App a brief configuration update will be automatically downloaded to your card reader during your first card transaction, completing the process. |

We encourage you to update the MobileMerchant app at the earliest opportunity to ensure that you are not impacted by this change. If you have a mobile phone or tablet on older operating system versions (iOS 9.x or Android 7.x and below) make sure that you update it prior to updating the MobileMerchant app. An updated version (2.5.0) of the MobileMerchant app for both iOS and Android was released to the App Store and Google Play Store on 26th April 2021. |
